Support Related to Basic Needs

Emergency Funding

Sometimes life happens. Unexpected medical bills arise, jobs are lost, 住房计划破裂，获得食物的途径有限, cars break down or computers need repair. UNC seeks to support all students on their educational journeys, even in the midst of financial instability.

The Student Emergency Support Fund exists to provide financial support for UNC students who are experiencing 意外和/或灾难性的生活事件，否则可能导致学生 to stop or pause progress toward their educational goals. 紧急支助基金是由于捐助者的慷慨解囊才得以成立的. 

The maximum award amount is generally $750.

• How do I apply for emergency funding?

  Expenses that are generally not eligible for emergency funding include, but are not limited to:

  • Non-essential utilities (e.g., streaming services)
